Over 50% of Romanians book their holidays online, and about 72% of them trust the online booking sites, according to a study by hotel reservation platform HotelGuru.ro.

Most Romanian tourists prefer to travel during summer, and their favorite destinations are Romania, Greece, and Turkey. The popularity of holidays in Bulgaria has decreased, with only 3% of the respondents saying they wish to go on holiday at the Bulgarian seaside, reports local Agerpres.

Less than half of the respondents (42%) said they usually went on vacation only once a year, whereas 13% said they went on holiday every time they find a special offer. Time for planning a stay is between 1 and 3 months for 29% of respondents. A fifth of the respondents said they planned their holiday half a year ahead.

About 46% of Romanians prefer to travel by plane when they go abroad whereas 38% prefer to travel by private car.
